The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The Bible says that all of us have sinned against God and the result of our sin is death and eternal separation from him.

“… There is no one righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)

“For all have sinned  and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

But God loves us and has provided for us a way to be saved from our sin and to live with him eternally. He sent his son Jesus Christ who came and shed his blood and died as a perfect sacrifice on the cross so that we could live eternally.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but who ever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3: 16-18)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3: 18)

“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3b)

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:21)

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love “not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4: 9-10)

Though He died for us it was also necessary that He rise again from the dead. Because He lives he can live within our heart, and now we too can live with Him forever.

“… That Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures…” (I Corinthians 15: 3-4)

“…Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in the newness of life.” (Romans 6:4b)

“…For we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead…”  (I Corinthians 15:15b)

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith…” (Ephesians 3:17)

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God…When Christ Who is our life, shall appear then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.”  (Colossians 3:1 and 4)

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love “not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4: 9-10)

Jesus Christ is the only way to God.

“Jesus answers, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)

“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)

We must turn from our sin and our unbelief, trust fully in Christ who gave himself for our sin and live daily by faith in Christ and in his sacrifice on the cross.

“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:32)

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” (Acts 3: 19a)

“That if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10: 9-10)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes hi who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” (John 5:24)

A Prayer of Commitment:

Dear Lord God I realize and acknowledge  that I am a sinner and I need your salvation through Jesus your only begotten son. Thank you for sending Him to die on the Cross for Me and raising Him from the dead to live within my heart. I turn from my sin and I trust in Christ Jesus and his death for me on the cross. I confess Him as my Lord and as the savior of my life.  Lord I surrender my life to Him. Please help me each day to live my life by faith for Jesus Christ alone.

In Jesus Name, Amen
